I conduct patient-centered research to advance reproductive health, technology, and equity.
Julia E. Kohn, PhD, MPA, is Associate Professor of Reproductive Sciences and director of research for the Division of Family Planning & Preventive Services. She received her undergraduate and master’s degrees from New York University and completed her PhD at The New School in New York City. Dr. Kohn previously served as National Director of Research for Planned Parenthood Federation of America, where she led the organization’s clinical and health services research. She has worked as an applied researcher for organizations such as the New York City Department of Health & Mental Hygiene and the Center for Justice Innovation, overseeing the design and implementation of interdisciplinary research efforts. Her research interests include contraceptive access and development, service delivery innovations in contraceptive and abortion care, and patient engagement in research.
